To those acquainted with or fast friends with Betsy, feel free to leave a memory, a thought or a laugh for all who view the pictures and notes. Thank you for loving her as we did! Bennett and Sally, sisters . . . [Leave a Note here]
Message: Words fail me. I loved seeing the photo of Sally and Betsy and Sally and me at the UVA UNC football game in Charlottesville. Wish I could remember when this was. Wish I could remember who won. Wish I still had those sunglasses. I still wear the vest.
It still hurts so much. Anne A Calohan
Message: Can’t believe she’s gone. I’d planned to visit her in VA in January but waited too long. I miss our hikes; I miss her way of wondering off trail to drag back some limb or rock she found interesting; I miss our take-out Chinese when she couldn’t hike anymore; I miss sharing milkshakes; I miss our passionate political rants for sure. So glad she saw Biden elected. She left too soon. Love ya B. Melissa Polier
Message: Bennett and Sally, I won’t be surprised if you don’t remember who I am. It’s been literally decades….since the 70’s, I think, since I saw either of you. Betsy was the first person I cared for deeply and she will always be one of the most special people in my life. She was so completely true to herself (which could be exasperating at times) and pure of heart that she was unlike anyone else. She was maybe the kindest person at her core, that I ever knew. A lot of the photos you have posted here show Betsy as I remember her and it really takes me back to a wonderful time. We rode King bareback on the beach one weekend and went to the debutante ball the next! Thank you for putting up this site and please pass my condolences to the extended family. Bobby
Betsy was a real bright spot in my life. We shared a love of family, nature, plants, animals and had a passion for NPR and PBS. She loved to dive into all kinds of subjects and topics. Her curiosity about things was insatiable. She never really understood how beautiful a person she was on the inside. She never understood how much she was loved by her family and friends. I loved her dearly. Lisa
